Walleye, White Bass, Channel Catfish, Bluegill, Crappie,
Northern Pike, Wipers and Largemouth Bass are popular with anglers. Populations of all species are found in the lake and also in the outlet area below the dam. Click here for more about the lake!

Carp and Drum are great for bow fishing and are found in large numbers in the Republican River east of the dam.

ICE FISHING

Ice Fishing is popular on Harlan County Lake. Every winter, fishermen show up with their stools, gear and tents and establish their spot on the ice. On longer days, take your ATV out for a spin. White bass and Catfish are the most popular catches. The gear used ranges from very basic to high tech.
